MYTH: Hearing Aids Don’t Work
MYTH: Hearing aids don’t work.
TRUTH: Hearing aids don’t help every patient with hearing loss, and older hearing aid technology was less helpful for patients with hearing loss in the higher frequencies. Newer technology, which has been available over the last 10-15 years, has really made in a difference in many people’s lives. But, like any piece of technological equipment, the adage is true that “you do get what you pay for”. Cheap hearing aids are little more than amplifiers and may not be as helpful as ones that are professionally created for a patient based on their hearing test.
