Q: Should I be concerned if I get frequent nosebleeds?

Apparently, when they say, “There’s an app for that,” they mean it.

So, if you get frequent nosebleeds (like one every other week), this app may be a good tracking device. Granted, the app itself is far more robust than simply nosebleeds and is geared toward those with HHT (Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia) or Osler Weber Rendu Syndrome.

To put your mind at ease, it is estimated that only 1 in 5,000 to 8,000 have that syndrome in the U.S., but this is almost never first identified as an ENT issue. It would be affecting far more in your body than simply excessive nosebleeding. I just like the ability to track nosebleeds if you find that you have a lot.

Having frequent nosebleeds can be very frustrating, but rarely means that there is something scary (like a nasal cancer) going on. If you are having them, HERE is a good place to start to reduce them. You can also always give me a call. I’ve got a few things I can do to get them to stop.
