About ME
As you have probably figured out by now, I’m an ear, nose and throat (ENT) surgeon in Texas. Lots of folks can’t imagine working with all of the gross things that I see in a day, but I actually really like my job.
I’m a husband, dad and a step-dad, which means I have more of a “complicated family forest” than a simple “family tree”. Second only to my relationship with Jesus, my family is the best part of my life. They’re where 99% of my memories are made and the first people I want to see when the work day is over.
My parents graduated from Baylor, which naturally meant that I would go to Baylor, too and would be a big fan. Sic ‘em Bears! While I’m a good runner, I don’t actually run unless I have a race scheduled for myself. I like to challenge myself to avoid the Dad-bod. #thestruggleisreal
I like to build things that I have no business building such as homemade stilts, a chicken coop, and a rock-climbing wall in my son’s bedroom which also has a custom bed that lowers from the ceiling by cables on a wench. It’s pretty cool and it’s only fallen once. Thankfully we fixed that. Hopefully.
I am an avid traveler and generally like to visit places I’ve never been. Some of my favorite spots are: Costa Rica, Patagonia (Chile & Argentina), Olympic and Yosemite National Parks. I love National Parks. There are only a handful of special places that I love returning to year after year. You’ll find my family is big on traditions. Salida, Colorado is where I’ve skied almost every year since childhood (yes, I still try to do stunts and trick jumps - I just hurt myself more now that I’m older); and Eswatini, Africa is a place that grows nearer to my heart with every trip.
In 2018 my wife and I started a non-profit organization to formalize a calling I have long-felt to medical missions. Since 2016 we’ve been investigating the need for ENT care and opportunities for me to practice in Eswatini (formerly Swaziland) once or twice a year. If you’d like to see more about our work, click here. It’s something I’m really passionate about.
While I realize it’s better to not have to see me in clinic, I hope that you will if I can be of help.
